A cross country adventure like none other.
15 days of impulse projections, an unfolding narrative, a westward adventure from Portland to Portland.
We drove across the country creating a series of impulsive projection mapping installations, made daily, shared daily, for 15 days, on locations from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon.
On May 5th, 2015, we had an idea.
On May 13th, we launched a Kickstarter.
On May 31st, just 19 days later, our sucessfully funded campaign ended.
On June 1st, we hit the road.
The goal of the project was to rapidly create compelling work, and augment our found environment— while reflecting on narrative themes surrounding adventure, growing up, & brotherhood.
Each day that follows built on the previous, into an overarching, constantly unfolding story. It was a unique, intimate experience that was shared live with our Kickstarter backers from June 2—16, 2015. We've shared the original posts, but following the journey we ended up with a whole lot more content of behind the scenes, audio logs of our thought process, concept sketches & storyboards, which we're taking our time to organize and share properly.
We made some things inspired by our adventure.

We shared the entire project & story as a full-on gallery show.
The gallery flowed like we traveled, from east to west, beginning with a projecting mapped vinyl line representing our path, syncronized with each daily video, above 15 location sketches.
Opposite this wall was our process sketches, storyboards, photos taken along the way, and a 22 minute video of behind the scenes footage. Between them, we proudly displayed our posters & patches, rewards sent out to our lovely backers.
Here's to the next one!
