Hello! I graduated Cum Laude from Champlain College with a BS in Multimedia & Graphic Design, and worked at JDK Design in Burlington, VT for the past three years.

Recently, I’ve been infatuated with projection mapping & light manipulation, and immersive interactions that bridge the digital/physical world. So much in fact, that I left my job as a 3D Designer at JDK Design to start my own company. Expect continuing changes to this site as it evolves over the next couple weeks.

In the meantime, you can follow along on the new CWII Facebook page.

I’m always interested in a variety of freelance and collaborative projects. Contact me and let’s make something awesome together:

illumifeet

Interactive footwear projection mapping installation created for BucketFeet’s storefront pop-up shop at Treasure&Bond in NYC, on public display nightly, May 8–30, 2013.

Watch illumifeet on vimeo

An evolution of the ‘illuminimal’ design concept, ‘illumifeet’ adds an interactive element: when a viewer walks up to the display, BucketFeet’s new styles (both lace up and slip on) and the artists behind them, are projection mapped onto a blank shoe ‘canvas.’ As long as they stay watching, they are shown new styles, and when they walk away, it returns to an idle state.

BucketFeet excitedly approached me about collaborating on this project, supplied me with their new designs, and gave me complete creative freedom on the overall design, storyboarding, animations, and all other aspects. I travelled down, installed it (with the huge help of Jerome from T&B), and it was revealed at their launch party on May 9th, 2013.

The visuals were created beforehand, collaborating with Josh Franklin and Jeff Yeager for footwear designs and colorways, then live mixed using a custom interface on an iPad.

This self-initiated project was completed over the course of a month.

An in-depth making of series is in the works.
Until then, enjoy the previous process posts.

Close-Up Abstraction Series

Screen printed poster series made for
Iskra Print Collective Presents: Raised on Paper

“Printing pixels” had been a growing concept in my head for a while, and in general, the contrast between digital and analog. I tapped into my nostalgia for classic video games as a source of inspiration, and selected original 8bit characters to abstract into geometric compositions.

For such a digital-centric design, it was very important to me to use completely analog printing methods. All of the films for the series were hand-cut out of rubylith, and meticulously aligned for a perfect registration.
