CURIOUS ROUND OBJECT
I mean, that's pretty much it.
Made impulsively in two days after being filled to the brim with inspiration at ITP Camp 2017.
A simple, interactive, rotational object made of flouresent laser cut acrylic, pressed between two hand cut, sanded & stained rings of scrap plywood. Designed as an interesting desk object, to play with when you're stuck on a problem, distracted, or just need a break.
The idea for this sprung out of the curiousity of the seemingly illuminated edges of flouresent material. I wanted to make a structure that could allow for interactive with multiple colors, possibly with various light sources. The linear moiré pattern design is inspired by some of Kelli Anderson's recent works.
I also made the smaller rotational object with white acrylic edges, and the lamp seen behind it during ITP Camp.
